No joy. Sometimes the ASUS driver download pages just don't respond. Some are a very great deal more robust, sophisticated and well supported in logic and argument than others. I can't think it's all 4 pc's and different browsers, it has to be a problem with the page!!!!!!!! Thank you for the update. Glad your working correctly again.
May I've been trying to install the latest Nvidia driver This driver actually adds the support for the mobile Ti so it probably fixes stutter in some cases etc. The preinstalled driver is v So the first thing I did when I fired up Windows for the first time was to update it. NET and security updates and that was that. So I go ahead and install Nvidia experience. And the worst thing happened. Now that doesn't seem bad to some of you probably, but to those who experienced this, you know this means problems as it implicates that Experience can't really identify the specific version installed.
It says So I sigh and go ahead and try to hit the find new drivers button I sigh again and go to nvidia. System check lasts like 2 mins and after that "Can't detect Nvidia hardware" and "Not compatible with this version of Windows" errors appear. Try again a couple more times, didn't work. Try to download driver again just to make sure I got the correct one - I did. Found some sort of general driver that presumably doesn't need specific GPU on videocardz.
All of them do and state GTX Ti. So I do the obligatory DDU clean unninstall since I found an article where the person fixed the "Can't detect Nvidia hardware" issue that way. Should've thought twice about that TBH.
Okay, most of these seem normal. So I fired up the driver installation again and So I find another workaround, this time finding "Hardware ID" in the Generic display driver's preferences and plugging it into one of the. And it works. So I decide it will be for the best to go back to the beginning.
I set up a flash disk with Windows to revert all this madness. Windows boots into troubleshooting menu and I choose "Revert to factory settings" and doing clean install so all my changes would go away. And voila I'm back at the beginning. But guess what? Everything is back to factory settings Theres no preinstalled Nvidia driver like before even though there is for the Vega , only the generic display driver. Use flash disk again this time straight up installing latest Windows with it.
So I'm trully at the beginning. Let's actually try to play something and let't see if I can use the Ti. So I download unigine benchmark. It fires up but can't use Ti.
I change control panel setting for all apps to use Nvidia GPU and even specifically the benchmark to use it. Still uses Vega instead.
Do the basic workaround and disable Nvidia GPU in device manager and enable it again and voila. Finally I'm at a point where I can actually use the Ti. Still I download The Witcher 3, fps is great but a pretty noticible microstutter.
The driver. This won't work properly withouth at least And what about future games? This is craziness. Tried Hardware ID workaround again. Doesn't work. Tl;dr skip for conclusion if you read longpost Have old driver preinstalled I mean not having the latest driver is problematic already since some games have stutter and it will case problems with new games.
Some games barely run have insane stutter without it's Game ready driver. I can't really go without it. And this MUST be a software issue right? BIOS can detect it. Windows can now too but the driver instllation itself can't?
There must be a software workaround. I have about 9 more days to return it. After that I'd have to live with that. I know Asus "tech" guys, they will just revert to factory settings and call it a day and won't fix the driver issue. Anybody here experienced something similar? Looking through the internet for the past 5 days I found out im in the 0. I don't want a laptop where latest drivers can't be installed so I'm returning it if I won't solve it.
